Gentle Seeds
Every Child to know what is good, true, and beautiful.
At Gentle Seeds, we believe that a child’s growing years are foundational, and we are committed to inspiring these young minds with what is good, true, and beautiful; through experiences in Nature, and the joy of a quality Literature.
When was your child’s last adventure?
Have you ever noticed how the wildflowers dance to the beat of the wind? Or how the morning dew drops rest delicately on grass like diamonds?
Beauty is all around us, if we learn to slow down and take it in. Words give us the ability to express that beauty, and to share it with others.
There’s so much to learn and experience in the outdoors—and many good stories to tell!
Come join us for a day of sunshine and fun!
Your Child's Growth Areas
“A full six-years of passive receptive life, the waking part of it, for the most part, spent out in the fresh air.” — Charlotte Mason
Observation
The habit of attention and training of sensory experiences. A kingfisher and a carpenter bee are not easy to spot, unlike the close up photos we so often see. Besides, the outdoors is a health remedy to a digitalised world.
Empathy
Each interaction affords children many opportunities to care for others and nature. The question is not “how much does the youth know when he has finished his education” but “how much does he care?” and about “how many orders of things does he care?”
Interpersonal
Ooo... I want to eat my friend's snack. Oh how should I ask? What is her name anyway? We will gently guide the children’s interaction with one another to equip them with the skills — clearly, then, a teacher cannot form and train a student by staying in the shadow.
Confidence
Being in nature has a way of pacing with each child, receiving them as they are. Over time, the children feel safe to fully express themselves in the outdoors.
Curiosity
It’s simply feeding the children one question at a time. Children, where did this seed pod came from? What is inside it? What is its texture?
Journaling
The act of connecting what they observed and experienced onto paper, be it through simple shapes or 'abstract art'. It is beautiful to see these budding artists produce their masterpieces.

He looks forward to Nature Walk with the teachers each week and I think that already says a lot about what the team at Gentle Seeds is doing right. I love that the teachers are very intentional in getting to know and love on each child as an individual and I can see that each child is very comfortable to be themselves during the walks! The teachers have also shown me as a parent that it is important to slow down and make space and time for my child to be outdoors as to chase wonder together despite the harsh weather.

Since early January 2023, we have been at Gentleseeds. Our child has experienced tremendous growth, becoming more enthusiastic and curious. Being in close proximity to nature has been eye-opening experience for him, allowing him to make new friends. He throughly enjoys himself, especially when it rains. He loves dancing under the rain and carrying a wooden stick from a tree wherever he goes. We appreciate the teacher’s patience and understanding.

I was impressed with how the three teachers who were leading the nature walk made the effort to encourage the child to participate actively without pressuring them if they were not ready.
Despite there being a planned programme, the walk was idyllic and my child and I were free to explore at our own pace. Finally, the book reading on a lawn surrounded by trees at the end of the walk.

Nature study with Gentle Seeds is definitely my daughter’s most memorable ‘enrichment’ class. We attended weekly classes at both Bishan Park and Botanic Gardens as well as a holiday programme at Coney Island.
Teacher Madeline, Joey and Anabel left such an impression that despite us stopping class for close to a year due to schedule conflict, she still speaks so fondly of them. What she learnt during her time with Gentle Seeds still sticks with her as I observe how observant she is when we go on our family hikes, and how she insists on journaling what she sees, something she learnt when she was with Gentle Seeds.
Can’t wait for our younger son to be fully potty trained so he can start his journey with Gentle Seeds!

My daughter loves the nature explore every Saturday. It is the best outdoor activity for the kid. Highly recommended!
